Top tips for finding cheap flights to Sweden

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Sweden flight deals.
  • Sweden offers numerous outdoor adventures to explore if you are an avid outdoor adventurer. It might be a good idea to take along your own sporting equipment or a mountain bike. There are many airlines, including RyanAir, British Airways and Norwegian Air that allow sporting equipment as extra luggage.
  • If you are looking for a quick overnight rest after a long flight, there is a luxury Radisson Blu hotel located directly on the Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) airport grounds and within walking distance of all terminals. Get some much-needed rest before you embark on the second leg of your journey.
  • A top destination for intrepid outdoor explorers is the picturesque town of Dalarna. You can fly into Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which will have a variety of budget friendly flights if you want to find cheap flights to Sweden. You can then travel to Dalarna in 4 hours by train.
  • There are 4 airports in close proximity to Stockholm, but the two you are likely to fly into from the UK are Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) and Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO), which receives low cost flights to Sweden. If you want to base yourself in the south of Sweden, you could fly into Malmö Airport (MMX) or nearby Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in Denmark, while a flight to Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport (GOT) might be a good idea if you want to stay in the west of the country.
  • If you are looking at flights to Sweden so you can travel to the north of the country with the hope of seeing the Northern Lights, you can catch a connecting flight from Arlanda Airport up to Kiruna Airport (KRN) and travel by road to Abisko National Park and the Aurora Sky Station.
  • Visitors wanting to spend time in Skåne in the south of Sweden can fly into Malmö, which is the biggest city in the Skåne region. From Malmö Airport, you can travel by road or rail to reach some of the region's most beautiful beaches and castles. An alternative would be to fly to Copenhagen in Denmark which is less 30min away from Malmö by train and is served by several low-cost airlines.
  • If you are travelling with small children, you should note that it is mandatory in Sweden for children who are under 4 ft 4 in in height to use an age-appropriate seat when travelling in a car. Short taxi journeys are exempt from this rule but if you are travelling by taxi from the airport, you may be able to book a taxi with a car seat, although you can expect to wait a little longer.
  • Sweden is not in the Eurozone and so you will have to have access to SEK. There are ATMs readily available at the airports where you will be able to use your credit or debit card to withdraw cash, however it is largely a cashless society and card payments are accepted in all major establishments.

The flight was again delayed for more then 2 hours with some lousy explanation regarding the reason of the delay. Although the flight was delayed for more than 2 hours, no refreshments were offered (according to EU regulations). Last 4 flights on KLM - always at least 2 hrs late. The flight was again delayed for more then 2 hours with some lousy explanation regarding the reason of the delay. Although the flight was delayed for more than 2 hours, no refreshments were offered (according to EU regulations). Last 4 flights on KLM - always at least 2 hrs late. So be prepared that you cannot plan anything with KLM.

The flight was delayed for 2 hrs. Because they didn’t have a crew to fly. And it is not a first time for klm to do that. Last time they cancelled my filght and rebooked me 3 days later. Not reliable airline

We left one hour late because of technical difficulties. The economy comfort seats are great for the price. The crew was mediocre, they do not provide a pleasant experience, they just deliver food and drinks and give orders, not very amicable, no service and hospitality focus.

Seats are fair enough for medium tall people. Good food all the trip. Fight attendances are warm

I thought KLM was the best airline but the Lima - Amsterdam was 1 hours late, the Brussels - Amsterdam was 2.30 hours late and the Amsterdam - Lima was 30 minutes late

The food was ok. The crew seemed like they were cranky. I had one guy get mad at me for passing in between the storage area to get to the other toilet. I can understand if it's not allowed but reprimanding me like I'm a student saying "This is the last time!" was not appropriate. During my meal time, there was a French family around me. No problems there but when we usually have meals, they are supposed to put their chair in the upright position. These people did not do it and the steward did not tell them to raise their seat in the upright position. However, I was told to do so! So, me and another person next to me had to eat with the monitor almost touching our faces. Furthermore, a lady in front of me was putting her feet up and preventing another elder passenger from putting her seat back. To make it worse, she was continuously hitting her back into her seat, shaking my monitor while I was watching a movie. A crew member did speak to her about it but then she accused me of pushing her seat forward! The crew member gave me a death stare and told me to stop pushing the seat forward. I did not even touch her seat at all, if I did, she would know it. Her boyfriend also stood up and tried to push her seat even further past the maximum decline to no avail. None of these people were reprimanded but the steward, some bald guy, was extremely friendly with them and did not even try to instruct them to do anything until it was time to land. I resisted the urge to really argue with them because I would have obviously been seen as the aggressor (I have no idea why). I hardly said anything on this flight except "more wine please" and "sorry" if I bumped into someone accidentally. Overall, it was an annoying flight and I had to resist the urge to yell at the steward and the people he was overly friendly with. The happiest moment of this flight was leaving it.

Overall a good experience. We were disappointed when we had to check our carry on due to the plane being full. KLM hadn’t notified us and we had valuable items in the carry on but they still made us check it. Some of the food was great and some was mediocre. Crew is really kind and funny.

One of the vstewardeses wanted to bump me of the plane for absolutely nothing. There is CCTV in the plane ans everything can be verified. Very disappointing , you all will see, o other 5 years and the passangers who does not smile to flight attendent will be bumped off...

It was nice to be on a legacy airline, people try at least.

I travel frequently. The flight was late again... KLM should really try and be on time

SAS is the representation of the Scandinavian minimalism, which I like. I wished they had a more relaxed policy on free water distribution beyond one bottle (500 ml) per person and two drinks, including water, per overseas flight.

TERRIBLE! Staff was unfriendly, rude, and demeaning. One flight attendant touched me to grab the complimentary blanket off my neck because I couldn't take it home, while a bunch of other people took theirs home. I have never been so ill treated. I am not happy at all. And flight was delayed, no information until short notice for everything. Lost an entire day at my destination. I expect a full refund for that experience. Never will fly with them EVER again

All was good. I think the back of the plane should be boarded first. It would be faster. Minimal waiting time behind passengers loading their carry on baggage.

I upgraded to economy plus and it’s so worth the price. The crew is exceptional and the food is pretty decent. I would definitely fly with them again.

I had economy plus and it’s definitely worth the price. The seats are so comfortable, so much space, great large TV screens, and you get fed often. Really decent food (although other fish was overcooked.) They do need better movie choices. The crew is the best. Super friendly and accommodating. So much better than most American run Airlines.

They lost my luggage. Tromso in winter without warm clothes is not fun.

The flight was on time and loading was fine. I really disliked that all drinks other than coffee or tea had a cost. Deplaning was also an issue as people did not wait for those in front of them to get out before they pushed forward

I paid for wifi and it worked about a total of 5 min. Feel ripped off

Good friendly service and food - The seats in business class are old, too hard and not very comfortable.

Last minute cancelation, though a substitute flight was found I could not pick my meal or seat. The hotel offered didn't have working air control or shower.

Very good, everything went straight forward, boarding, during the flight, landing and all on time Well done

flight delayed, no information given until late on, Ryanair app said "on time" until 5 minutes before expected departure time, crew rushed us to board, when it was already 3 hours late

I got denied boarding bevause they said they "ran out of seats on a plane"

Speakers were blaring. It's like being in a Moroccan market and you keep getting shouted at with what's for sale

What can you say Ryanair get you there,no frills Not so cheap anymore ..... but what is now days! Would use again as always. Good flight times for us.

Perfect timing, perfect departure, lovely crew on the ground and in the air.

Very unpleasant staff, disgusting service, ignoring requests, refusal to help

Late again rude staff at gate bullying passengers made us stand in the cold 3degrees for 40 mins before they let us board

The usual average Ryanair flight, but we landed 20 min before due time, which was very good.

Enjoyed our flight with Ryanair to Arrecife. Flight boarded pretty much on time, crew were welcoming and very good. Generally good for a frequent low cost flight, Seats could however have been more comfortable.

Really quick check in and security at Heathrow Terminal 5. Staff on board were lovely and very friendly. Could have provided a few more drinks on the flight but they were available at the back of the plane.

Flight boarded and took off late for unknown reasons. Crew insisted we check our hand luggage due to full flight, which it was not even close to full. Then had to wait almost an hour a and a half for the hand luggage to come onto the luggage belt since it was loaded last. This came after many hours of traveling pregnant with my 6 year old daughter. Really didn’t appreciate the unnecessary delays. What the hell?

Left late. Crowded like cattle. Standing and waiting. Food on board getting worse.

Terrible- the flight time was delayed and then I was denied boarding because I arrived at the new time of departure

It was a flight operated by Aer Linus for BA and the plane and crew were very good but the food selection was average.

Flying economy is like being packed into a sardine can.

Flight delayed an hour due to plane maintenance issues after getting in line to board. Issue was plane galley ovens which eliminated hot meals for overseas flight. Cold selections were limited due to availability. Drink and meal service (already an hour delayed) was very slow. Upon arrival in Nashville, had to sit at gate for about 15 minutes before disembarking with no explanation. Local police then boarded plane as we were disembarking so maybe that was the issue.

Boarding good. Seats uncomfortable when lie flat. Food was awful. Tasted stale and chicken was dry. No live tv or flight map. Had to pay for internet.

Poor technical details on this plane. 1) There was no WiFi on an 8 hour long-haul flight. So no work could be done. That's below the standard expected for airlines these days. 2) The power outlet at my seat was busted and not working. 3) The headphone jack was loose and I had to keep adjusting my headphones to get good reception, or when it slipped out. - The flight was delayed to due mechanics. Sometimes this can't be avoided, I understand, and it's a big inconvenience to arrive that much later when traveling across time zones (then arriving at 4am from the prior time zone). - Also unique to this flight, the northern lights were visible on the right side of the aircraft, but I only found out after we landed (b/c again no wifi). I understand there are considerations about people being out of their seats to look, but I feel extremely disappointed and resentful that I wasn't told so that I could have a chance to look at this probably once-in-a-lifetime cosmic event from a view in the sky. - Flight crew was otherwise friendly and helpful.

Our flight was delayed by over 6 hours. We then had to deplane, stay overnight in a hotel then fly out the next day, 23 hours late.

Short flight, some waiting to board, but no issues and no frills.

Pros: "Value for money"
Cons: "Boarding process really needs to improve. There is usually a chaos during boarding"
Pros: "It got me to my destination. Nothing else to like."
Cons: "Boarding was a circus. The most disorganized I’ve seen. Price-gouging at every turn. Cramped uncomfortable seats. And of course the nonstop screaming infant."
Cons: "Premium cabin service and amenities very poor. No snacks available with premium ticket. Also no socks or hygiene products typically available on other business class flights. Will not fly Norwegian again."
Cons: "No food or water was offered. Had to stop for water . Barely any selection of movies"
Pros: "This was a cut-price flight. Considering what we paid, the flight was amazing value for money. The plane was new. There was plenty of overhead space. The seat pitch was adequate. We took our own food. We slept for most of the flight. We arrived on time. If Norwegian can continue to keep the price low, I'll happily choose to fly with them again."
Cons: "A free soft drink and nibbles would have been nice, though hardly necessary."
Cons: "It would be great if they had free drinks and snacks"
Pros: "Movies and tv were nice."
Cons: "Wifi was so slow i gave up on it and just watched a movie. I flew 10 hours, nothing complimentary. Greedy"
Cons: "This was my first trip to Europe and I was a bit nervous about the experience, I've been on plenty of planes, however, about nothing like this. Norwegian Airlines is the worst experience I have ever had on a plane or any mode of transportation. We were running to the terminal because they only announced that they had last call, and we were eating. When we got there, they pulled my fiancee aside to weigh her bags (mind you this is about 5 mins before the plane is about the leave). I'm waiting inside of the airway for her and they spot me and pull me back out to weigh my bag. The guy was shady, he pulled on my bag as it was on the hand scale and said it was 3 kg overweight. I told him it's not, I weighed it myself, so he weighs it again and say "sorry, I meant it is 4kg overweight" he said that it is 15 dollars per kg, unless I want to leave stuff here. I looked at him and he just stared at me until I gave him my credit card. $60!! That's ridiculous, especially considering I bought a hand weight just for this occasion. My fiancee had to pay $90!! And just to top it off, they wouldn't give her passport, she had to ask for it back. Also, if you dont purchase a food plan before hand you have to buy it on the plan. They dont even offer peanuts. This airline will nickel and dime you for everything. Better off with another airline if you are traveling abroad. You'll end up paying the same, but will have better service. Never again will I fly Norwegian"
Pros: "Seat comfort , modern plane"
Cons: "The boarding process was ridiculously disorganized . People were not boarding according to their group numbers and there were many unnecessary delays / hold ups . My baggage was lost for over 4 days (it still hasn’t arrived on October 24. I landed on October 20). With little to no communication on it status or refund on all the baggage fees I was made to pay. While the crew was pleasant , price point attractive and plane modern, These factors are enough to deter me from choosing this airline in the future"
